Recent Changes To The Express Entry Stream

The Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration made a change to the Nova Scotia Experience Express Entry stream.

•    With only a certain number of people can move through the migration programs each year, the Department often updates programs based on the needs of employers and how programs are performing.

•    These changes are made to help address labour needs and ensure Canadian provinces maximize the retention of newcomers and international graduates.

•    The people who have studied in Nova Scotia are more likely to stay in Nova Scotia. However, over the past two years, the Experience Express Entry program has received significantly more applications from graduates who studied out of province.

•    With this latest change, the province government has chosen to focus the Experience Stream on Nova Scotia graduates. This change does not affect applicants who gained experience while on other types of employment class.

 

Which Occupations Are In Demand In Nova Scotia?

•    Financial auditors and accountants

    Other financial officers

    Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations

    Administrative assistants

•    Accounting Technician and Book Keepers

    Civil engineers

    Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses

•    Social and community service workers

The Minimum Requirements For The Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Programs Are:

•    The applicant must have an employment offer from a Nova Scotia employer.

•    They must have required work experience for the related employment.

•    The applicants must be qualified with the required education credential.

•    They have to prove the language efficiency equal to Canadian Language Benchmark level.
 
    They have to show the desired funds to settle down in the province.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program

Originally launched in 2017, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIP) has now brought in new permanent residents to Atlantic Canada. Four Canadian provinces - New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island - together make up Atlantic Canada.

Building upon the success of the pilot, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program was made permanent on December 17, 2021, and accordingly renamed as Atlantic Immigration Program. The new permanent program officially opened on January 1, 2022.

The Atlantic Immigration Program is a type of migration program that allows employers in the Atlantic provinces of Canada to hire immigrants for employment. The applicant can also apply for permanent residence via this program.

Who Can Apply Under The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program?

•    The applicants who wish to settle down in Canada.

•    The applicant must be graduated recently from a designated post-secondary institute in Atlantic Canada.

•    The applicant must be an experienced skilled worker.

•    The applicant either living outside Canada or living in Canada on a temporary resident can also apply under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.

•    There is no particular age limit for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program; however, candidates who are between the ranges of 18-35 years have more of a chance to migrate to Canada.  It is because they are considered perfect for the required skilled employments. Also, applicants till the age of 50 can apply to gain permanent residency.
