The program allows the province to select and nominate foreign workers, international students and entrepreneurs to help meet British Columbia’s labor market needs, support the government priorities, and help grow British Columbia’s economy. If you are nominated, you and your family can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to become a permanent resident of Canada.

What Are The Different BC PNP Immigration Pathways?

The Provincial Nominee Program of British Columbia offers three pathways to immigrants to obtain the status of Permanent Resident in the province. Each stream extendedly has more sub-categories from which the candidates can choose based on your international student status, job, or skill level under National Occupational Classification. BC Entrepreneur Immigration- It is for the knowledgeable Entrepreneurs who have a desire to actively manage and operate a business in the province. It is based on the invitation system and on points. The candidates must hold the required investment and personal funds.
The Regional Pilot Entrepreneur Immigration stream is for entrepreneurs who wish to start off a fresh business in participating regional communities across the province.

What is British Columbia Provincial Nominee Tech Program?

The BC PNP Tech program is contained within the British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program (BC PNP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) managed by the province of British Columbia. BC PNP Tech allows candidates with employment offers in-demand tech occupations to apply for provincial nomination with expedited processing through the BC PNP.

After facing a shortage of talent in the technology sector, British Columbia launched the pilot project to lure the qualified skilled workers globally in order to help in the growth of the province’s technology sector.

About The Eligibility Criteria:

•    Dissimilar to the other British Columbia Provincial Nomination Program streams which require a permanent employment offer, Tech program employment offers must be for a minimum one year, with at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.

•    The employment offer must also be full-time and from a designated employer of the province. Employment offers should be for more than one year and must be eligible under the program.

•    Invitations to Apply in the province’s tech program are sent out weekly to the high scoring candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.

•    If they get an approval, they receive a nomination confirmation which is used for application of Canada permanent residence from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Provincial Nominee Class.
